Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink 2012

(13 Apr - 15 Apr)

The Festival is held each year in the cultural quarter of the city, spread across the courtyard and grounds of the 1000-year-old cathedral. The area is one of the city’s most scenic, and perfect for a week of celebration of food and drink. Expansive greens in front of the cathedral give you ample opportunity to relax and do a spot of ‘people watching’ while you tuck into some delicious local fare. Amongst the various attractions to tempt you are a real ale festival, demonstrations by top TV chefs and live music. Chefs giving demonstrations on a range of cooking techniques and speciality recipes have included experts such as Lesley Waters and Susy Atkins.

Cricklepit milling day

Visit a working 13th century water mill and DWT’s headquarters to watch volunteer millers grind wheat in the traditional way. This will be the first event in a series of regular milling days, which will occur on the second Friday of every month. For other dates have a look at the list of events.

The Spring 2012 Exmoor Walking Festival is now open for bookings. This year the festival has changed slightly and will be predominantly focusing on the National Park running from West to East over the period. Starting in Ilfracombe and then basing walks around Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock and Dunster the festival includes over 30 walks with friendly expert guides.
