Located in the Dartmoor National Park the River Dart Country Park is an award winning campsite and is open from Easter to the end of September for fun and adventurous days out for families.

River Dart Adventures is based at the Park and is open every day except Christmas for visitors to enjoy.

Set in 90 acres, with lakes, parkland and woods with the majestic River Dart flowing through the Park it is the ideal place to stay or visit. Children can run and play on our Pirate Ship lake and Adventure Playgrounds and our on-site facilities available for everyone.

Wistlandpound Reservoir, Blackmoor Gate

This tranquil lake is surrounded by conifer plantations and has an established nature reserve. Located near Blackmoor Gate in North Devon, it is an ideal location for peaceful walking and angling. The way-marked circular walk around the lake takes approximately one hour and stout footwear is recommended (the path should be followed in order to avoid anglers' backcasts). The Calvert Trust has a centre nearby from which it organises adventure holidays for less able people and their carers, including watersports on the lake. People wishing to take a holiday or day course can contact them on 01598 763221. Fly fishing for rainbow trout is available to anglers. Day permits can be obtained from the Post Office in Challacombe, The Calvert Trust or tackle shops in Barnstaple and Ilfracombe.
