The farm has pedigree Poll Dorset sheep which graze extensively on clover-rich pastures and riverside meadows. A large acreage of cider apple trees is grown and these look and smell amazing when in blossom in May. The orchards and river host a wealth of insect species which attract numerous birds to the farm; skylarks hover above the orchards and kingfishers flash along the river. The farm is a haven for wildlife and visitors are welcome to roam and enjoy it. An evening stroll will often encompass a glimpse of many of the shyer creatures with barn owls, deer, foxes, badgers, and ducks nestling down for the night on the river and even an occasional glimpse of an otter. The owners are also happy for visitors to observe, where appropriate, work in progress on the farm such as lambing, shearing or the apple harvest. There is something of interest for much of the year. Woodland View has been furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard with lots of little extra homely touches to provide a real home from home. Just a short stroll to a thatched pub/restaurant, making it an ideal venue for family or friends.The sandy surfing beaches at Westward Ho! and Widemouth Bay are only a short drive, as are the market towns of Holsworthy and Torrington which have weekly pannier and open-air markets as well as a selection of shops and pubs. The port town of Bideford is probably equal distance with a larger selection of amenities and a historic quayside. Other places of interest include Clovelly with its steep cobbled street and pretty harbour, or the traditional fishing village of Appledore where you can still see many maritime connections over the estuary from Appledore is Instow where you can sit and relax on the sandy beach or play in the sand dunes, and for those who like watching boats/windsurfers and yachts, Instow is home to the North Devon Yacht Club. For golfers there are at least five golf courses within a close proximity including England's oldest course The Royal North Devon Golf Club.

Picturesque Clovelly, with its cobbled street leading down to a tiny harbour, is just a short drive away. Historic Bideford, a prosperous port during the heyday of trade with America by sea, lies 18 miles distant, its most famous landmark being the bridge (made up of 24 arches) spanning the River Torridge since the Middle Ages. Traditional West Country crafts are displayed in Old Ford House, and pleasant boat trips can be enjoyed on the river. Bude, with its beaches and town attractions, is just 11 miles distant and several fantastic surfing beaches are within easy reach, as well as water sports on the Tamar Lakes, 7 miles distant.
