Smallacombe Mine worked on and off with the nearby Albion and Atlas Iron mines. The mine extracted Iron ore with records showing 8,618 tons of ore at a value of almost £5,000 raised between 1865 and 1874. The mine was managed by W. H. Hosking between 1873 and 1875. The mine reopened in 1917 but closed for good in 1920.
