Haytor Mine lies just over a mile nortwest of Ilsington, near Bovey Tracey. The mine was worked mainly as an opencast mine prior to 1828. Later adits wer driven into the ore bodies.
br/>Production between 1858 and 1910 amounted to 34,786 tons of magnetite and iron ore ranging between 57% and 67% in grade.
