Not to be confused with the mine of the same name near Ashburton. Wheal Union is located three quarters of a mile southwest of Peter Tavy, near Tavistock in West Devon. Also known as Devon Wheal Union this ancient copper mine is thought to have been little more than a prospect working two lodes from New Engine Shaft and Old Engine Shaft.
